DROM Taberna, 458 Queen St W, Toronto

5:30pm - Kalila Badali

Kalila Badali is a Toronto-based alternative folk/pop artist and Registered Psychotherapist. Her music blends intricate guitar picking and vocal loops, exploring themes of mental illness, ecology, and feminism. She debuted in 2019 with her EP Perfectly Collapsing, shared on plantable paper to reduce waste, and has been featured on CBC Radio One. Her latest EP, Panacea (2023), received support from the Ontario Arts Council and FACTOR Canada. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Kalila runs a psychotherapy practice focused on neurodivergent, LGBTQ2SIA+, and arts communities, offering Music-Integrated Psychotherapy and workshops on musicians' mental health.

6:45pm - Gillian Stone

Gillian Stone is a Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, interdisciplinary artist, and music researcher. Her vocally-driven work, blending post-rock, folk, and experimental elements, has been called "surreal in its composition" (The Revue). Influenced by Vancouver Island's landscapes, she explores themes of mental health, vulnerability, and destigmatization. Her debut EP, Spirit Photographs (2022), co-produced with Michael Peter Olsen, delves into grief through Elisabeth Kübler-Ross' stages. Currently, Stone is crafting a new album with co-producers Bryan W. Bray and Timothy Condon, exploring intergenerational trauma and the stories of her Icelandic-Canadian foremothers through music and prose.

DROM Taberna is a heartfelt homage to places that we came from, have traveled to, or have never been - the lands that stretch from the Baltic to the Balkans to the Black Sea. The venue offers live music 7 days a week on a walk-in and Pay-What-You-Can basis.
